Announcing Portage’s New Training Coordinator!
The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) Portage Network (Portage) is pleased to announce Jennifer Abel as the new Training Coordinator as of August 24, 2020. Jennifer joined Portage earlier this year as Project Officer, to support Portage activities related to managing sensitive data, data management planning, and research intelligence. As Training Coordinator, Jennifer will engage in all aspects of research data management (RDM) training, including the development of a nationally coordinated RDM training program in Canada, in collaboration with the Portage Training Expert Group (TEG).
Jennifer has both a Master of Library and Information Studies and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining Portage, she worked in UBC’s Education Library and in the Research Commons, where she helped to develop a research data management workshop. She has taught at the University of Calgary, Mount Royal College, and the University of British Columbia.
We are very pleased Jennifer will be continuing to work with Portage.
Funding in support of the evolution of the Portage Research Data Management (RDM) Network is administered through CANARIE.
