New Open Data Collections Added to the FRDR Discovery Service!
Portage is pleased to announce the addition of several new open data collections to the Federated Research Data Repository (FRDR) Discovery Service:
Abacus Open Data is part of the University of British Columbia’s Abacus Data Network and covers a variety of topics and formats, primarily at the municipal and provincial level. The collection includes statistics, GIS data, orthophotography, and LiDAR data available under open licenses.
The Open Data Portals cover a range of municipal topics – from demographics to the environment. They are made open and accessible to the public under various Open Government licenses.
The City of Toronto launched its first Open Data Portal in the fall of 2009 to meet growing demand for open data, and now includes 370 datasets.
The City of Vancouver Open Data Portal includes over 160 datasets with new ones added and existing ones updated regularly.
The City of Winnipeg Open Data Portal includes over 880 datasets.
FRDR currently has over 70 Canadian research data repositories included in its discovery service, with more being added.
